Something prompted me to write this!
When I look back as this year ends, I think of my friends,
and I also ponder: Who came into my life and who is gone.
Every year there are those who remain,
Looking only for friendship and nothing else
They have stayed by me through good and bad,
Smiled when I am happy and cried with me
when someone or something is no longer here.
And after so many years you begin to realize,
That a friend is life's most precious gift.
So as I grow older and begin another New Year's Day,
I will thank God for those friends He has given me.
And my New Years resolution will always be,
To thank Him again for every breath of life He has been so faithful to give.
I'll Keep my friends close, and even as I make new friends,
I'll always treasure the old.
Thank you all for being my friends...

Very well said, meb. Your comments always make me feel good. Thank you for saying them. Your post reminds me of a camp song, a round that I have always liked, 'Make new friends, but keep the old; One is silver and the other Gold. :)
Marge, I couldn't agree with Sizzie more! I read what you wrote and a smile came to my face. : )
Hi Meb -- This is a wonderful post, I am quite sure you have had your trials, your days and hours, but you do always focus on the good in life, and that just such a wonderful thing. It has that magic of not only improving the quality of your experience day to day, but did you realize it has that same, wonderful affect on those around you?
Ah, meb, you always have a way of lifting us up with your words and your open heart. I'm so glad to "know you" through this wonderful medium where we share ourselves so openly. You are a gift to all of us!
Thanks for your comments everyone... its easy to stay positive when you have positive friends like you who encourage me.
Ohh, thanks for another comment on Shuffle. And thank you for wanting to spread the word. I'd love it.

You inspire me Marge. You are such an uplifting person in all your communication.
Thank YOU for being MY friend!!
Wasn't that the theme song on the "Golden Girls"?
Glad you're feeling better Donna. And Thank You For Being A Friend was the theme songs to Golden Girls. I hadn't realized that when I wrote my title, I may have changed "my" to "a"... But it means the same thing any way you say it.
Very well said MEB. I hope you consider me a friend. I truly value the friendships I have developed with you and others (you know who you are) through Jackie's Blog.
RBennie... you must know I consider you a friend... probably even a confidante' and I'm sure you know what I mean... Smile.
Hi there Meb-- just back from my time in NYC and Chicago and wanted to check in to see that I hadn't missed anything on your blog. How wonderful there are so many comments!
Happy New Year (never too late to say that right?)
